Super efficient power
The North Nova Light Wind has a deep profile and a rigid frame to allow for the most efficient power delivery per square meter. The main goal in designing the North Nova Light Wind was to allow you to sail without having to pump hard. To get you on your foil and keep you there as long as possible, even in the zero knot lulls. The frame of the wing is very stiff and responsive. When you pull with your back arm, the kite delivers direct power and keeps you going.

Rounded wingtips to reduce tip-strike
The North Nova Light Wind has a compact silhouette with rounded wing tips to reduce drift. The low aspect ratio and reduced wingspan means you are less likely to catch a wingtip in the water. The curvature of the wing tip means that if you hit the water, only a small portion of the wing tip will make contact. This creates less drag and improves your chances of recovery.

Refined design
All the covers have been removed, lighter bladders have been used, and this kite has been designed to be as light as possible. While there are always size and weight limitations for a wing this large, its weight on the beach is not a representation of its flight on the water. The North Nova Light Wing performs like a much smaller wing.

Pair it with an efficient, low stall speed foil.
With a kite of this size, you need to make your transitions at lower speeds. If you combine it with a larger foil in light winds, you will have more time on the foil. A low stall speed helps you maintain lift in the troughs.

Choose one size of kite
You only need one North Nova Light Wind in your quiver. The span is designed to be manageable for different pilots, so choose the kite that best suits your size. The 8m is suitable for a heavier rider while the 6m is more suitable for a lighter rider. Each size is optimized for maximum low-end capacity.

Aerodynamic trailing edge
Get upwind with ease. Trailing edge technology creates better laminar airflow and a more direct exit for the wind than a narrow trailing edge. Tests have shown that if a wing has a tighter trailing edge, it creates a hook, which gives more pressure on the backside, but also wants to pull you into the wind instead of forward.

HyperFlow Quick Inflation/Deflation System
High-volume single-point inflation system with a larger diameter inlet/outlet hose for quick inflation and deflation. Bayonet-style main inflation valve is compatible with most pumps - no adapters required. All North Wings come complete with a high pressure inflation pump.

Durable Dacron frame and high performance N-HTRS sail
In search of a stiffer rig, North used a high-strength, high-tenacity Dacron for the inflated structures, resulting in less deflection and movement and a stiffer frame in flight. The less-stretchy material keeps the shape clean and undisturbed under load. North also incorporated stiffness into the design through load distribution on the frame during use.The canopy is made of North High Tenacity Ripstop Polyester (N-HTRS) for lightness, tear resistance and durability.

Stiffening seams
Additional seams in the wing tips help stiffen the frame.
