For 2023, the North Cross has been built in the new sustainable EcoLite Impact Resistant Bamboo construction. The Cross has an all-new surf contour with a reduced nose and tail width, which allows for better wave adaptation for easier, cleaner turns and better control at the top of the wave. North has refined the shape with a low entry rocker for easier acceleration and drive. The rounded, more forgiving surf rails offer a responsive, grippy feel. Instantly familiar, intuitive and easy to ride, the North Cross is a super comfortable allround freeride board that effortlessly bridges the gap between surf, freeride and strapless freestyle.

New compact surf contour
The nose shape reduces length and weight. Reduced nose and tail width increases control at the top of the wave and creates a better wave fit for easier, cleaner turns. The narrower, rounded pin tail reduces the tail area behind the fins and makes the board more responsive on the back foot.

New full-length bottom channel with a deeper V
Grab when you want to, release when you don't. For 2023, Nort has refined the bottom shape, making the center channels deeper and the outer channels more subtle. This gives the rider better control of the board and improves traction when you go fast. It also gives you confidence to go further, because the board doesn't peak at speed, and it handles smoothly on landings and critical turns.

New low entry surf rocker
For fast acceleration, speed and dynamism. The North Cross has a low-entry surf rocker that combines with generous width and volume, making the board easy to ride with great upwind ability to get back to the launch zone.

New rounded and low profile surf rails
The rounded surf rails are more forgiving and responsive, offering a more reactive feel with an immediate grip on the rail.

New thruster or quad fin mode
The new inserts allow you to use a quad configuration, traditionally used for more grip on rails in big waves. For a more vertical attack, we recommend the classic North Hexcel Coremat fins, lightweight and durable fiberglass thruster surf fins for smooth control and traction. The basic custom fin shape does not require FCSII filling. Fins are sold separately.

FCSII premium fin box
The lightweight premium fin box allows for a 9 degree rake. Compatible with FCSI and FCSII keyless fins for more speed and drive, faster acceleration and better board response. High density foam reinforcements surrounding the FCSII fin box are shaped to match the curved template of the fin box for a clean bond and smoother load transfer into the board.

Non-slip deck grip with toe bump and rear wedge kicker.
The one-piece textured EVA deckpad in micro-corduroy features an intuitive front toe bump and rear wedge kicker for maximum traction and control.

Strap insertion options
For rough conditions, the rider can adopt a comfortable position for better control in strong winds or big waves. Experience instant planing comfort with lightweight memory foam surf straps featuring seamless, pre-tensioned and laminated KnitFlex internals. Free Straps allow you to customize your fit and position, giving you the freedom to move and ride in all conditions. Straps sold separately.
