North Carbon Innegra Futurelite construction maximizes the board's strength without losing flex or responsiveness, while DualShock EVA inserts increase durability and protect against bumps. Refined in 2023 to improve response, speed and drive, the new North Charge offers an even smoother, more powerful ride with a positive feel and more radical turns.
Feedback from riders charging some of the biggest waves in the world led to some very minor shape improvements to improve handling at speed and turn dynamics.
North moved the board's wide point slightly forward, and increased the concave under the front foot.
The rounded surf rails have also been reshaped to be lower and more refined, giving the board more grip when carving the wave face. Also new for 2023 is the slim, two-piece, non-slip corduroy deckpad with front and back kicks for exceptional comfort and control.

New, better surfboard outline
North has moved the widest point of the board slightly forward, resulting in improved high-speed handling and cornering.

Low Entry Surf Rocker
For fast acceleration, speed and drive. The low-entry surf rocker gives the board excellent upwind ability to get back into the launch zone.

New deeper concave bottom
For 2023, North has increased the concave under the front foot, which contributes to a fast, dynamic bottom turn and a responsive, pivoting top turn with easy release.

Futurelite Technology
A lightweight Carbon Innegra Futurelite frame forms a structural backbone to support the laminates, maximizing strength without losing flex, and allowing the board to load and release power on demand for more dynamic and responsive performance.

New thinner, lower profile surf rails
A thinner, pinched rail for a more responsive feel and firmer grip, which helps engage the board in the wave face and gives the rider the confidence to charge.

FCSII Premium Fin Boxes
Precision tuned for smoother, tighter turns. The FCSII Premium Lightweight Fin Box is compatible with FCSI and FCSII keyless fins for more speed and oomph, faster acceleration and better response from your board. The high-density foam reinforcements surrounding the FCSII fin box are shaped to match the curved template of the fin box for a clean bond and smoother load transfer in the North Charge. The fin boxes, leashplug and footstrap inserts are structurally integrated into the laminate by the Futurelite carbon innegra system for additional reinforcement and adjustment. Fins are sold separately.

DualShock EVA Inserts
High-density EVA foam inserts with a biaxial fiberglass layer under the footbed add durability and help reduce bumps around the heel. This solution is designed to reduce over-engineering, keeping the boards light while maintaining the necessary flex.

New two-piece non-slip deckpad in fine corduroy with intuitive front toe bump and rear wedge kicker for maximum traction and control.

Strap insertion options
Recommended with Free Straps. For rough conditions, the rider can adopt a comfortable position for better control in strong winds or big waves. Recommended Hexcel Coremat Fins
Lightweight fiberglass surf fins with a slanted thruster for smooth control and projection. This unique fin base shape does not require FCSII filling. Fins sold separately.
