Borrowed from the North sail heritage, Code Zero is the name of a sail born to go fast in light and unstable conditions. Like its namesake, North designed this kite for performance in very light winds. The all-new North Code Zero is a light, fast and responsive kite with effortless one-handed control and efficient power in lightwind. It flies and turns quickly, with excellent drift and handling, making it ideal for foiling and surfing.

In brief

  • Pure kite for foiling
  • Ultra light monolateral wing
  • Huge wind range
  • Excellent drift
  • New lighter and more resistant materials

Description

The North Code Zero is one of the lightest monolatte kites on the market, with a playful and agile feel and dynamic steering.
Refined to save weight, the construction of the kite has been reduced to the essentials. North used lighter N-Dure dacron on the leading edge and batten for stiffness and durability, a double layer of spinnaker to reinforce the trailing edge and lighter bladder material in each size.
DuraLite wingtip guards provide abrasion resistance only where you need it, and small battens on the 9m and 11m stabilize the sail. Super fun and easy to fly, with an intuitive release and reverse launch, the North Code Zero is also ideal for learning to kite or foil in light winds.
The kite is stable and evenly tensioned, with a balanced geometry. It won't luff, fly or stall, and its one-handed steering means you can still foil in your preferred position.
The Code Zero is a very efficient kite with a wide wind range and impressive power for a single-wing kite - which means you can sail in lighter wind conditions with a smaller kite. With the 3, 5, and 7m, you'll cover the entire wind range, from 10 to 30 knots.

Light wind performance
Ideal for foiling and wave riding, the North Code Zero has an excellent drift, great handling and extremely fast and responsive steering. Designed to travel at speeds so fast that other kites can't keep up, the Code Zero has an excellent drift for foiling, where you're traveling at very high speeds downwind and it's important that the kite follows you.

One of the lightest single-wing kites ever designed
In lightwind kiting, you want to have the smallest kite possible in the least amount of wind possible. To keep the kite flying, the lighter it is, the easier it is to fly. North wanted to see what was possible, how light it could be without losing performance or making it too fragile. Designed using the lightest possible materials, a minimalist approach was taken - there is nothing on this wing that you don't need. This contributes to the playful and agile feel of the North Code Zero, as well as its fun and dynamic steering.

DuraLite Reinforcement
The only added reinforcements are Duralite seam protectors on the wingtip and center batten, providing abrasion resistance only where you need it.

2-layer canopy trailing edge reinforcement
A double layer of canopy material at the trailing edge provides optimal tension in the canopy shape, keeping it as smooth as possible and helping the kite fly faster through the sky.

Lighter N-DURE Dacron
North used lighter N-Dure dacron for the leading edge and battens. This allows the airframe to meet structural requirements without adding unnecessary weight.

Lighter bladder
North chose a lighter bladder material to match the lighter and more refined construction method. These ingredients combine to give a super light wing with the fastest possible response and rotation speeds.

Ideal for foiling and wave riding
The North Code Zero's excellent drift, maneuverability and extremely fast and responsive steering allow it to fly through the air and turn quickly.

Balanced geometry
Easy to fly, stable and well tensioned, the Code Zero is not likely to luff, overfly or stall.

One-handed operation
The balanced geometry makes one-handed operation a breeze. This means you can maintain your preferred position when changing direction, without putting yourself in an uncomfortable position.

Sail in light wind conditions with a smaller wing.
With responsive power delivery in light conditions, the North Code Zero is very efficient, with a super direct steering pulse. The Code Zero has a wide wind range and impressive power for a monolithic kite. With a 3, 5 and 7m you can cover the whole wind range, from 10 to 30 knots. It depends on the size, but it performs best in its low range, and will carry you through lulls and gusts. When surfing with more wind, the smaller sizes will open up the world of freestyle foiling. The kite is lighter and faster through the window, which makes it fun for tricks.

Easy relaunch and reverse launch
The curved leading edge profile means less surface area touching the water, for a quick, headache-free relaunch.

HyperFlow One-Point Quick Inflation
Ergonomic one-point inflation system with large diameter hose for quick inflation and deflation. The geometry of the cap and valve base is optimized for more comfortable opening and closing in colder conditions (when your fingers are frozen). The bayonet main inflation valve is compatible with most pumps - no adapters are required.

Compact, travel-friendly size
Your lightweight North Code Zero packs into a high-quality GoGreen Recycled PET kite bag with Foil Assist. The recycled polyester ripstop fabric meets the global recycling standard. The bag features a comfortable STPU padded area with a specially designed groove for carrying a foil pole on the shoulder. It also features mesh windows for ventilation, zippered pockets for spares and storage, a bar pocket and a pump holder.

Small battens
Stabilize the kite and prevent flutter on the 9m and 11m sizes.
