Description

As Wingfoil progresses rapidly, especially in waves, it's essential that your gear keeps up. Understanding that advanced riders are hungry for peak performance, Appletree has designed the Apple Skipper wing to give you exactly that.

Skipper concept

The Skipper wing is part of the Skipper board concept. 4 boards with the same design language, but adapted to the specific needs of each discipline.

The Skipper concept is based on a new hull design. The boards are slim throughout their length, giving a feeling of connection to the foil. Under the front foot, the sole features a unique “bulge” that sits slightly lower than the foil box.

This bulge displaces water on landing and raises the board. Ideal for more radical foam bashes and wing foils in the surf.

Tight turns in the pocket

The board's outline is narrower and longer than that of the Jazz and Slice V2. This makes the board relatively easy to ride, and the narrow tail makes it perfect for tight turns in the pocket and harder carves. No risk of the rail touching the water and slowing you down.

The bottom is quite rounded and has no flat section. This makes the board harder to reach planing speed, but on the other hand, it releases better. The Skipper-wing is certainly not a shape for beginners. It has been designed to meet the needs of experienced riders.

Smooth transition

The teardrop shape, especially in the tail, means that the board releases so well at touchdown and when you start to go to foil, you hardly notice the transition.

There's also more rocker at the bottom of the board, while keeping the deck as flat as possible. This helps stick to landings and forces the board up on starts.

Universal foil tracks

The foil boxes are positioned slightly forward and feature Appletree's all-new long boxes for greater flexibility in foil placement.

The angle between the foil boxes and the deck is 0°, which means the mast is at 90°. This angle, combined with the long rails, makes the board compatible with all foils on the market. It is no longer necessary to move the foil boxes to adapt them to certain foils.

Crossover board

The Skipper wing range is compact. Starting at 4'8” in 45L, it's a step above the Skipper-prone series, so the Wing range picks up where the prone version leaves off.

The larger prone sizes and smaller wing sizes of the Skipper make great transition boards that you can use for both wing and prone surf foil.

Light and advanced riders

Ideal for light and advanced riders. The larger sizes don't increase much in length, but more in thickness to gain volume. Stock sizes range from 4'8 to 5'2 and from 45L to 75L. The maximum size is 75L, as the board is designed purely as a sinker-style board.

If you're looking for a board that floats at your weight, the Jazz and Slice V2 are better options.
