Description
Who are AXIS Progressive rear wings designed for?
Axis Progressive rear wings are versatile wings for intermediate and advanced riders, combined with higher-performance front wings such as the HPS, ART, PNG and BSC front wings.
You'll notice the difference right from your first carve or gybe.
Why were Axis progressive stabs designed?
The Axis Speed stab's sense of stability, speed and lock is impressive. This is particularly true on flat water, such as in wing racing and big, fast waves in foil surfing. However, there's more to offer when it comes to turning. That's why Progressive rear wings were introduced, and they've done their job to perfection. Still the same feeling of speed, but this time with more carving and turning possibilities.
Medium in appearance, with a thin foil section and tips subtly turned downwards, this new design wraps up beautifully in the turn, giving a feeling of fluidity and freedom, and also hooks into the carve and transitions on the other side with predictable control and positive acceleration. Even intermediate foilers will immediately notice the difference. It performs very well in difficult flying conditions (just set it and forget it) and with a thin foil section, it stays very fast. Progressive stabs are like a natural extension of your feet.
Riders find that Progressives pair perfectly with ART and HPS front wings, and they work very well with any foil for riders looking to improve their turns and carves. As always, adapt your Progressive rear wing to your experience and the size of your front wing (larger sizes for less experienced riders and larger pairs of front wings).
You're probably wondering why rear wings are so important? Aren't they simply stabilizers to balance the front wing? Well, that's what many people thought too - in the early days. It's fair to say that your rear wing can change your life. Okay, that's not quite true, but it will significantly affect the riding characteristics of your entire foil set-up.
