The Cabrinha Mantis V2 2022 stands as the direct counterpart to the X3 in Cabrinha’s high-performance lineup. Featuring a redesigned profile and an oversized leading edge, the Mantis delivers smooth power and a highly rigid platform for precise control on the water.
Premium construction and exceptional durability
Like all Cabrinha products, the Mantis V2 showcases top-tier craftsmanship. From its robust inflation system and reinforced stitching to its large well-positioned windows and flawless finish, everything is built to last. While this adds some weight, it ensures excellent resistance for freestyle and wave sessions.
Easy inflation and maximum reliability
The inflation system features a standard one-way valve with no adapter required, plus a reinforced strut-to-LE hose with an integrated clamp. The double-loop wrist leash is easy to attach and remains secure throughout the session.
Outstanding control with rigid handles
Equipped with wide rigid strut handles and a soft handle on the leading edge, the Mantis ensures instant control. Every movement is transferred directly to the wing. The front windows ensure sufficient forward visibility while riding.
Smooth and balanced power delivery
Tested in real-world conditions (4m² wing, 4'6 board, 1075 foil, 20–25 mph wind, 3’–4’ waves), the Mantis V2 excels in delivering progressive and smooth power. Unlike many wings with a sharp on/off feel, the Mantis offers consistent traction that may require slight adaptation, but quickly becomes second nature. Its balance is almost neutral between front and back hands, leaning slightly to the back hand in certain conditions.
The perfect blend of freestyle and wave capabilities
The Mantis V2 is a hybrid: offering freestyle performance (hang time, glide, pop) along with the stability needed for surf. While the X3 is punchier, the Mantis focuses on refined control. It also points better upwind, making technical transitions and tacks much easier.
