In an emergency situation, the inflatable envelope is simply pulled out of the front torso pocket and then easily slipped over the head. The CO2 cartridge is activated by manual release and allows the inflatable envelope to be inflated quickly. The buoyancy generated stabilizes the person in difficulty, keeping his or her head above the water’s surface.
Available in stores, this system is already extremely popular across the Atlantic and is the most widely used product in the United States. Although the 150N and 275N buoyancy categories are more appropriate for most water sport activities, the SECUMAR FREE 100 is an excellent rescue system for open water swimming activities and water sports such as stand-up paddleboarding and surfing.
