The Axis Fuselage Black Advance+ 2024 has been redesigned to deliver a more direct connection between rider and foil. By placing the mast 60 mm closer to the front wing, Axis unlocks new levels of surf performance and responsiveness. This fuselage does not replace the standard Black series but complements it, offering a livelier, more precise feel for intermediate and advanced riders looking to push their limits.

Smart geometry adjustment

Moving the mast forward changes the overall foil geometry: the effective length between mast and rear stabilizer is increased, influencing handling. To balance this, Axis introduces a new fuselage size, the Sillyshort, with a 40 mm offset (Advance, not Advance+). When choosing your Advance Black fuselage, it’s recommended to consider this and possibly select a shorter length than you normally ride.

Smoother and more responsive turning

Compared to the standard Black fuselages, the Black Advance+ offers faster, smoother rail-to-rail transitions. This added agility comes with a trade-off: tracking stability and top speed may be slightly reduced. In wingfoiling, you can expect a small impact on upwind performance and may need to adjust your pumping technique. Riders focused on high-speed surfing in big waves may prefer the standard Black series.

Installation and compatibility

With the mast moved forward by 60 mm, the baseplate must also be positioned 60 mm further forward in the board’s foil box to maintain the same wing placement as with a standard Black fuselage. The Advance+ replaces the previous Advance version, which only shifted the mast 40 mm.
